What Is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder in which a person experiences recurrent seizures due to abnormal electrical activity in the brain.
A seizure may cause temporary changes in movement, awareness, behaviour, sensation, or consciousness. While some seizures involve full-body shaking, others may appear as brief staring spells, confusion, or sudden muscle jerks.
With proper diagnosis and treatment, many people with epilepsy can lead active and fulfilling lives.

How Ayurveda Understands It
Apasmara
In Ayurveda, epilepsy is commonly correlated with Apasmara, a condition characterized by recurrent episodes of loss of consciousness, abnormal movements, and disturbed mental functions.
According to Ayurvedic principles, an imbalance of the Tridoshas, particularly Vata, along with disturbances of the Manas (mind) and the body's natural channels (Srotas), may contribute to the condition.
Our Ayurvedic Approach to Epilepsy
We follow a holistic, personalized approach rooted in Ayurvedic principles, to address the root cause of the condition and not the symptoms alone.
