What Is Insomnia?
Insomnia is a common sleep disorder in which a person has difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early and being unable to fall back asleep.
As a result, the person may wake up feeling tired and unrefreshed, which can affect daily activities, mood, concentration, and overall health.
Insomnia may be short-term (lasting a few days or weeks) or long-term (lasting three months or more). Stress, anxiety, poor sleep habits, certain medical conditions, medications, or lifestyle factors can contribute to insomnia.

How Ayurveda Understands It
Anidra
In Ayurveda, insomnia is commonly correlated with Anidra, a condition primarily associated with an imbalance of Vata Dosha, and in some individuals, Pitta Dosha.
Factors such as mental stress, anxiety, irregular lifestyle, excessive screen time, disturbed digestion (Agni), and improper diet may contribute to poor sleep.
Our Ayurvedic Approach to Insomnia
We follow a holistic, personalized approach rooted in Ayurvedic principles, to address the root cause of the condition and not the symptoms alone.

A personalized treatment plan may include Ayurvedic medicines, dietary guidance, lifestyle modifications, sleep hygiene practices, yoga, meditation, breathing exercises, and Panchakarma therapies when clinically appropriate.
Aahar • Aushadhi • Vihar
After understanding the root cause, our Ayurveda expert applies the Trisutra principles to restore Tridosha balance and improve Agni.
Aahar (Diet)
A personalized diet plan — Pathya (what to eat) and Apathya (what to avoid) — is advised during consultation.
Aushadhi (Medicine)
Ayurvedic medicine formulations, based on the root-cause analysis of the condition, are prescribed to patients.
Vihaar (Lifestyle)
Meditation, Marma Chikitsa and other lifestyle actions are advised as per the condition.
Panchakarma (Personalized Therapy)

Healthy Sleep Tips
Many People Start Taking Herbs Such As:
Ashwagandha, Jatamansi, Brahmi, Shankhpushpi, Nutmeg (Jaiphal), Brahmi Ghrita
…or other herbal formulations and Ayurveda-based supplements, after watching social media videos, reading online articles, or on the advice of friends and relatives.
However, Ayurveda does not recommend taking medicines without proper root-cause analysis.
