One of the first things people notice at an Ayurvedic consultation is how many questions get asked before anything is recommended. Sleep, appetite, digestion, daily routine, stress, work timing — none of it seems related to the complaint that brought them in.
That questioning exists because of Prakriti: your natural body-mind constitution, determined by how the three doshas — Vata, Pitta and Kapha — are involved from birth. Prakriti does not change. What changes is Vikriti, the current imbalance that develops over time through diet, lifestyle and lack of sleep.
Two people can walk in with the same complaint and the same diagnosis on paper, and still need different guidance — because their constitution and their current imbalance are different. That is why Ayurveda plans treatment around the person rather than around the disease name alone.
It is also why the same herb that suits one person may not suit another, and why an assessment comes before any prescription.
