Obesity is one of the conditions where generic advice is most common and least useful. Ayurveda correlates it with Sthaulya (Medoroga) — associated with an imbalance of Kapha Dosha, excess Meda Dhatu (adipose tissue) and impaired Agni.
But those words describe a pattern, not a protocol. The factors that built the pattern differ from person to person: eating habits, physical activity, genetics, hormonal influences, poor sleep, stress, and in some cases medical conditions or medications.
An assessment therefore looks at Prakriti, Vikriti, digestive strength, lifestyle and any associated health conditions before a plan is set. Depending on what it shows, the plan may bring together dietary guidance, Ayurvedic medicines, lifestyle changes, regular physical activity, yoga, stress management, and Panchakarma therapies where clinically appropriate.
The aim is a plan that fits how a particular person actually lives — which is also what makes it sustainable.
